Happpppyyyy America Day! Yep! It’s the Fourth of July and we all know what that means! The fashion world has entered a dress code for the day. It’s one of the only days of the year where its nearly impossible not to have anything suitable to wear. I mean, ANY combination of the patriotic colors red, white, and blue will work to pull off a super fun holiday look. I like to think of days like this as mulligans. Every year you get to re-do, do up, or even top your last look with something even crazier and more fun.
But hold up. Just because it’s the fourth doesn’t mean you have to be tackily decked out in American flags and redneck bandanas. There are ways to pull of fun, flirty, and free (spiritually, not monetarily) outfits without painting yourself red, white, and blue. So if you’re looking for some outfit inspo, just check out some of the ones I’ve put together for this year’s holiday!
This dress is new from Charlotte Russe! I love it because aside from being perfect for the holiday with its blue and white stripes, it’s also a classic pattern and color for summer, so it can be worn over and over again with different accessories and shoes for so many different looks.
It’s also an awesome dress to hide a strapless bikini under if you happen to be going somewhere like the lake or the beach on your day off!
Another fun thing to spice up not only your Fourth of July look but all of your summer looks as well is basket bags! I’ve been loving the basket bag trend this spring and summer season! It gives a simple look a fun an fresh feel, almost like you’re always going on a picnic!
Tip: If it’s too hot this summer to have your hair out and about, throw it up in a bun and use a bandana headband to spice up your updo!
This dress is also new! I got it from Forever 21 for around $12! It’s such a soft cotton that it’s super comfortable and breathable to wear throughout the summer. I’ve worn it already about 5 times! $12 well spent!
If you’re in for a more modest holiday, try belting up a tunic dress!
The length and coverage will help protect you from the warm summer rays and the addition of a colorful belt will spice up a more everyday looking dress. I opted for a classic denim dress in this look and topped it off with a bright red belt.
The accessories I’ve chosen throughout all of these looks have all been easy breezy and simple. The low white heels are easy to walk in but also give each look a more dressed up feel. The head band is fun and summery with red-ish floral patterns to add life to all of the pieces. And as I said before, the basket bags are just fun!
Alright! And last but not least, we have to tie a Fourth of July post together with a little bit if stripes! Stripes are always fun and always a good idea, especially on a day like today! You don’t have to go all out red white and blue with this, as you see here a simple blue and white stripe (or red and white if wanted) shows your spirt just fine as well as showing your style.
So that about wraps it up for my outfit inspiration this Fourth! I’ll have a small gallery of extra photos below! I hope you all have an awesome holiday with family and friends! Thanks for reading!
