Hey everyone and Happy New Year! I know it’s already mid-January and the new year is already alive and thriving, but this will be my first post of 2020 so I wanted to wish you all well! One of the best things I’ve ever done is make the decision to start my own blog and website. After that, tons of smaller but just as monumental decisions came to follow. Buying my first camera, upgrading to my own hosting site, applying for affiliate companies, etc, etc. All things that have helped and continue to contribute to my growth as a blogger and the rise in my creativity as a creator.
Now, I am nowhere near the expert I hope to be, and I still have so much to learn about blogging, marketing, writing, and all sorts of things. But I know when I was first starting out, I wish I had a bit of a cheat sheet on what items and systems would make my blogging life way easier.
So today I’m going to be sharing some of the Amazon products that me or my blog could definitely NOT live without!
Canon Rebel Series: DSLR Camera
So, Before I got my DSLR Camera, I would just take photos on my iPhone. This is in no way a less superior option. I still use iPhone photos for my blog to this day, however, I wanted something that I could use dynamically, on my own and for multiple different purposes all in one. So I took the plunge and bought and Canon Rebel T2i DSLR Camera and y’all, I have never looked back sense. Even though I do have the an older model in the series and am looking to upgrade soon, I am so in love with this camera guys. It has multiple auto settings that take away the scariness of operating a professional grade camera and just makes it fun and easy! I’m so glad I got this one!
70″+ Camera Tripod
Okay, I’m not necessarily going in list of importance. But…this one is a heck of an item. I would not be where I am today without my tripod guys. No matter how much your friends and family support your visions, your dreams, and your interests; no one wants to constantly go out of their way to shoot tons of blog shots with you (unless maybe they’re another blogger). Especially when things like going on location, being on vacation, or waking up at early hours to catch the sunlight are common must-dos for blogging photography. This tripod has helped me take some of the stress off my friends and family and has allowed me to get some amazing shots all on my own. There is also such a sense of accomplishment knowing that if it came down to it, I would be able to perform all the aspects of my business on my own. Boss Girl Vibes!
Memory Card Reader
To some of you who have a newer MacBook computer or who are like me and had the older version and now have a new one, you know that when it comes to memory card space on your laptop, there is none. The old laptop was great because the memory card jack was built right into the structure, but now you have to seek the help of an external drive to upload your camera shots to your computer. That’s why this little guy comes in just as much handy as my camera does, because I use it just as much!
iPhone Memory Card Reader
So this little guy is also a great one because when you’re out and about or traveling and you don’t have an entire computer to download all your new shots onto, you have the option to use this memory card reader that plugs right into your cell phone! From camera to phone, your photos can be dowloaded right away. I find this helpful when I am away or I want to begin editing a shot right away!
Ring Light
If you do a lot of shooting after sunlight hours or just indoors, sometimes you’re going to need a little bit of extra light to help you out. That’s where this ring light comes in. It’s a bright white light in the shape of a ring where you can stand a phone, camera, or any other recording device in the middle. This way, your once dark shot is way lighter!
Day Planner
Last but not least, we have a regular day planner. This may seem mundane and simple, but the number on thing that keeps my blog running smoothly is planning out when I’m going to get content, how I’m going to get it, and what’s the most efficient timing of it. Otherwise, with all the other things going on in life, I’d drive myself crazy! So don’t forget about the little things like planning ahead and writing down your process!
Awesome post! Keep up the great work! ๐
