Cute food…it’s a concept Y’all, and it’s one that I can’t seem to say no to! So of course when I visited my sister in LA this summer I HAD to also visit one of the infamous Sprinkles Cupcake ATMs. Of. Course. And I gotta say y’all, I’m both over and underwhelmed.
Let’s get one thing straight here y’all, Sprinkle Cupcakes is a blogger’s DREAM! First of all, it has to do with food which can relate to everyone, it is as cute as a button with its pastel coloring and beautiful locations, and it’s all in all a down right perfect place to take photos.
On top of it being Gram worthy, how fun is the concept of getting a custom made cupcake through a sliding door? I don’t know what it is about things that aren’t supposed to happen that just do, but the concept of a pastry ATM is still one that I can’t help but think, “genius”!
So, for the experience, 10/10 would recommend! hahah!
While beautiful food in beautiful places is awesome to see, this girl likes to eat and I come from a place where with some banging cupcake spots. Sprinkles Cupcakes sadly just didn’t live up to those spots. Here’s why:
What I got:
My favorite cupcake is a red velvet cupcake with cream cheese icing. Period. It doesn’t matter if it is a world famous cupcake shop or the deli down the street, that’s the cupcake I’m getting! So, excited as I was, I went to order this and quickly found out that cream cheese wasn’t an option.
Now if my location was actually an ATM, I probably wouldn’t mind as much, but this particular “ATM” was attached to an actual Sprinkles store and I was handed the cupcake from someone behind a wall. Meaning, cream cheese frosting could have been stored. But wasn’t.
But maybe I’m being difficult.
Anywho, on top of not having the option I wanted, they are also quite pricey, the cupcakes are quite small, the icing is not good (but it is pretty…) and the cupcake was dry… Alright WOAH! That was all very negative sounding, but all in all that is my honest opinion. You know what else I honestly think.
That I LOVED it! (As a blogger of course). I’ve seen so many photographs of this place in so many cities and just as social media does, it made me want to visit so so badly! And the location lived up to the hype! So if you’re going for the show, get ready to be amazed. Just remember to save your money for a better treat later!
