Disclaimer: I decided that my new year would start a week in, so here’s to new beginnings, new goals, and new clothes!

Now that’s not to say that 2018 wasn’t amazing, because it was! I’m just ready for 2019 to be even more amazing! With all the lesson I’ve learned about the world and myself this past year, I’m ready to apply them all to a monumental new year!
So with all this talk, what are my actual New Year goals? We’ll hold your horses and I’ll tell ya!
- God First
Since the beginning of the last new year, I made the decision to work on my faith and on my relationship with God. I’m not going to give y’all my entire testimony, but for a while I had fallen out of touch with the Lord and had been confused why I was falling deeper and deeper into an unfulfilled and unhappy lifestyle. With the simple help of a devotional I started to get more and more into the word and have grown back into the relationship with God I had been missing all along.
2. Stop Overthinking!
You know the crippling feeling you get when you’re nervous about doing something? I do! And when I get this feeling, I proceed to run every possible situation, outcome, and possibility through my head, deciphering what is most likely to happen and then the same process on what my best reaction may be if that thing were to happen! Crazy, I know… and honestly the most exhausting process and it is so unnecessary!
So this year I want to live in the moment and just do. No more overthinking and no more procreating out of fear! I know certain things will make me nervous, but I also know from experience that they will help me grow and I WILL get through them. So this year, I’m taking the pledge to just jump at any and every opportunity that may turn out to be great for me!
3. Have A Plan!
I’m not just talking about a life plan (although, one of those would be pretty dandy too). I’m the kind of person who will sit and think about possibilities, outcomes, and anything else other than the steps, as I’ve mentioned before! I’m a “just do” kind of person when really the act of having a mapped out plan is something that has always set me at ease. My problem is, I spend so much time thinking about the “what, when, why”, that when it comes to the “how” a lot of the time I’m scrambling and winging it!
So this year, I want to take time (even if it’s just a minute) and have a plan before the things that I do.

4. Write It Down!
I’ve talked about my faith and my overthinking, and my issues with planning. And now heres my solution to ALL these problems. Writing is like a miracle drug for me. When I see it, I believe it, I do it, and I do it well! The struggle though, is taking the time to write this stuff down! Whether it be my thoughts or my to do list, having it concrete and spelled out (quite literally) in front of me helps me to stay more productive and focused on whatever task may be ahead.
So this year I want to write more! More content, more to myself, more to God; just more…
And there you have it folks! Short, sweet, and close to my heart! I enjoy making goals that are controllable by me. Other things in life you may not have much control over, so there’s no reason to worry about them. But the way you handle yourself is always up to yourself!
Love y’all!
